Responsive Ethical Problem Solving

Strong supervisory relationships create space to discuss cultural differences and biases that can influence treatment decisions as well as supervision. Unfortunately these conversations can also be difficult. The first step to building a safe and culturally responsive supervisory relationship is building awareness of your own values and biases. This event will lead participants through self-exploration and reflection to increase their awareness of their own personal values and how they align with the ethical codes of behavior analysts.

Using Empathy to Provide Responsive Supervision

We are charged with discussing differences among and between cultures, but for many, it is difficult to determine how to create safe spaces to have these discussions. Empathy helps supervisors create safe spaces where these difficult conversations can transpire. This event provides participants with the objective behaviors included in empathy and when and how to use empathetic responding to build strong supervisory relationships across cultures.
